1973 Porsche 911T Coupe 5-Speed for sale on BaT Auctions – ending April 27 (Lot #144,733)

This 1973 Porsche 911T coupe was built in November 1972 and sold new in the Los Angeles region of California. The car was relocated to Europe in 2013 and acquired by the seller as a non-running project in late 2020 from the head of Porsche Club Hungary. A restoration was subsequently carried out and included a bare-metal repaint in black as well as reupholstering the interior. Power is from a fuel-injected 2.4L flat-six that was rebuilt to “S” specification during the restoration. Additional equipment includes houndstooth seat inserts, staggered-width 15″ Fuchs wheels, “S” brakes, and a five-speed Type 915 gearbox. This longhood 911 is now offered in Budapest with a Certificate of Authenticity and Hungarian ownership documentation in the name of the seller’s company.

The car was disassembled and its body shell was stripped to bare metal during the restoration. Metalwork included rust and damage repair before the car was primed and refinished in its factory black color. European-style lighting replaced US-spec “sugar scoop” headlight rings and red taillight lenses, and bumper overriders were also removed. Additional exterior equipment includes deco rocker trim and a single sideview mirror in addition to black decklid script and horn grilles.

The 15″ Fuchs wheels measure 6″ and 7″ in width and have been refinished in RS style. They are mounted with 195/65 and 205/60 Toyo tires front and rear, respectively. The car was equipped with “S” specification brakes from the factory, incorporating ventilated discs all around. The suspension and brakes were rebuilt during the restoration.

A four-spoke steering wheel frames US-spec VDO instrumentation, including a 150-mph speedometer, 8k-rpm tachometer, and analog clock. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 700 miles, reflecting the distance driven since the restoration was completed. True chassis mileage is unknown.
