2022-2024 Ford Everest and Transit Custom recalled in Australia
A potential fault with the automatic window closing feature could mean it won’t work unless significant pressure is applied, according to the recall notice.
Ford has recalled 38,423 examples of its Everest large SUV and Transit Custom van, citing a potential fault with the automatic window closing function.
The affected vehicles are stamped 2022 to 2024 models.
The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: “Due to a software issue, if a vehicle occupant places an obstruction such as a body part in the window space when the driver or passenger side windows are closing, the auto reverse function may not operate until significant pressure is applied.
“If the driver or passenger side window auto reverse function does not operate as intended, it can increase the risk of serious injury to vehicle occupants.”
