No Reserve: 1971 Honda CL350 Scrambler for sale on BaT Auctions – ending April 19 (Lot #143,892)
This 1971 Honda CL350 Scrambler is a Poppy Yellow Metallic-finished example that is said to have been purchased by the seller’s father in 1972 prior to being acquired by the seller in 2024. Powered by a 325cc parallel twin paired with a five-speed transmission, the bike has a 2.4-gallon fuel tank, a chrome high-mount exhaust system, both kick and electric starters, dual Keihin carburetors, chrome fenders, 18″ wire-spoke wheels, drum brakes, a side stand, a center stand, a left-side mirror, and a black vinyl-upholstered two-up seat with a grab strap. Work in preparation for the sale reportedly consisted of rebuilding the fork and carburetors, cleaning the fuel tank, and replacing the chain, spark plugs, and sprockets. This CL350 Scrambler is now offered at no reserve with a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
The bike is finished in Poppy Yellow Metallic with black accents and Honda badging on the 2.4-gallon fuel tank, which has been cleaned in preparation for the sale. Exterior details include turn signals, a left-side mirror, both center and side stands, chrome fenders, reflectors, and a black vinyl-upholstered two-up seat with a grab strap. The front brake light switch does not work, paint chips are located on the fuel tank, the rear fender has pitting in the finish, the headlight bucket has a crack, and areas of corrosion are noted by the seller.
The 18″ wire-spoke wheels are mounted with older Bridgestone tires that have cracks. Suspension consists of a telescopic fork as well as dual shocks mounted to the swingarm. Braking is handled by front and rear drums, the front of which features a twin leading-shoe design. Corrosion is present on the rear wheel, and the fork was rebuilt and resealed in March 2024, per the seller.
A chrome cross-braced handlebar is mounted to the top triple clamp via a riser and fronts green-dial Nippon Seiki instrumentation consisting of a 110-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 9,200-rpm redline. The five-digit odometer shows 5k miles. Pitting in the finish is visible on the handlebar.
The 325cc parallel twin features dual Keihin carburetors and was factory rated at 33 horsepower and 19 lb-ft of torque. The bike is equipped with a high-mount chrome dual exhaust system as well as both kick and electric starters. The carburetors were rebuilt in 2024, at which time replacement timing components were fitted, the oil was changed, and the spark plugs were replaced, according to the seller. A replacement battery had been installed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheel through a five-speed transmission and a drive chain. A replacement chain and sprockets were reportedly fitted in March 2024.
The Florida title lists the model year as 1972.
