Pininfarina Reveals Batman-Inspired Hypercar with an $8 Million Price Tag
Holy hypercar, Batman! Italian car design firm and coachbuilder Pininfarina Automobil, in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery, recently revealed an all-electric hypercar inspired by Bruce Wayne and the Batman character. Dubbed the “B95 Gotham,” this is the first of four bespoke hypercars to carry the Batman theme.
The Pininfarina B95 Gotham is based on the B95, the world’s first hyper Barchetta, a roofless, two-seater sports car which shares the same underpinnings as the speed record breaking Rimac Nevera. That said, the Gotham hypercar boasts some insane stats: 1900 horsepower (1400kW), and a maximum torque of 1725.895 foot-pounds (2340Nm), to be exact. Its top speed was clocked at over 186 miles-per-hour (300km/h) with a zero to 62 mile-per-hour (100km) acceleration time that fell below two-seconds.
All that energy comes from quad electric motors and a 120kWh battery, but Pininfarina has not yet shared the hypercar’s driving range. The company does state that the Gotham offers a quick charge time that takes its battery from 20 to 80 percent in less than 23 minutes on a high-power DC charger.
The hypercar’s exterior design, finished in an Argento Vittorio gloss, takes styling cues from the Batmobile while paying homage to Bruce Wayne, Batman’s alias. Polished Wayne Enterprises logos appear on the side skirts and the driver’s side door plate is emblazed with the famous quote from the original Bruce Wayne comic books, “All men have limits… I ignore mine.” The aerodynamic exterior also features tan leather domes with a unique embossed WE logo. Bespoke alloy Prezioso Evoluzione wheels over Brembo 390mm carbon-ceramic brakes complete the look.
The Batman references don’t end there. Inside, surrounded by bespoke leather upholstered seats and brushed aluminum anodized black and gold finishes, the driver gets a voice assistant inspired by Batman’s butler, Alfred.
This is just the first Batman-inspired Pininfarina to be made. The company is also building a Wayne-themed Battista Pininfarina and Batman-themed variants of both cars.
Three additional one-off Batman-inspired Pininfarinas are being made, including a Battista Gotham, B95 Dark Knight, and Battista Dark Knight, all of which utilize the same underpinnings as the B95 Gotham. Pininfarina will only build one of each.
The Pininfarina B95 Gotham carries a price tag of €4.9 million ($5.3 million), the cost of channeling your inner Bruce Wayne, but the one-off example is reportedly already spoken for. It will make a public appearance at The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering on August 16, as part of the 2024 Monterey Car Week in California.
Pininfarina notes that the actual one-off destined for their client is currently being built at the Pininfarina atelier in Cambiano, Italy.
